He was predeceased by: his parents, James David Failen and Bennie Steps Failen; and his stepson Marcus Joy. He is survived by: his wife Judy Sisk Failen; his children, James W. Failen of Blacksburg, Billy Failen of Blacksburg, Christine F. Bowen of Blacksburg and Daphne Dondiego of Gaffney; his stepdaughters, Sandy Wiles (Mark) of Roebuck and Samantha Childers (Greg) of Cowpens; and his siblings, Orville T. Failen of Fayetteville, NC, Edith Mae Atkins of Gaffney and Ruth Foster of Gaffney. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
