He was predeceased by: his parents, Wardell Tate and Rachael Hoey Tate; and his siblings, Eugene Tate, Minnie Alice Gregory, Sarah Lee Smith and Mount Tabor Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his spouse Sarah Tate.
