He was predeceased by: his spouse Osteen Bailey Upchurch; his parents, Roscoe Upchurch and Ella Mullinax Upchurch; his stepson Bobby D. Cole; and his siblings, Betty Lou Frazier, Harold Dean Upchurch, Roscoe Upchurch Jr., Robert Upchurch and Buddy Upchurch.
He is survived by: his children, Marshall Gene Upchurch, Lisa Upchurch of Gaffney and Libby McAbee of Lexington; his stepdaughters, Diane Williams of Polkville, NC and Judy Lydia of Gaffney; his siblings, Bobby Van Upchurch of Gaffney, Sarah Robbins of Gaffney and Sandra Sasser (Ronnie) of Monroe, LA; and his grandchildren, Elaina McAbee, Susie Painter, Ronnie Cole, Bridgett Cole, Mike Lydia, Matt Lydia, Travis Williams, Mitchell Williams and Haley Williams.
