He is survived by: his wife Tammie Hopper Blackwood; his father Michael Lee; his children, Michael Dustin "Dusty" Blackwood and Patricia Elizabeth "Tricia" Blackwood; his stepdaughter Carrie Pennington; his grandson Michael Justin Blackwood; and his sister Carol Ann Blackwood of Gaffney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Gaffney Baptist Church Youth Fund.
