He was predeceased by: his wife Rita Huffstetler Swofford; his parents, James Edward Swofford and Amy Case Swofford; his stepmother Vivian Swofford; and his sister Pat Swofford Harrington.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tracy Swofford Blackwell of Gaffney and Mary Swofford McDaniel (Todd) of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Jacob Swofford Blackwell (Haven), Anna Kay Manley, Jessie Logan McDaniel and Michael Gage McDaniel; and his brother-in-law Teck Harrington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
