She was predeceased by: her husband Walter Earl Whelchel, Sr.; her mother Leola Smith Bersaglia; and her brother William Anthony Bersaglia. She is survived by: her children, Walter "Wally" Earl Whelchel, Jr. and Karen Horne; her sister Debra Newton of Union; her grandchildren, Kayla Horne, Kelsey Horne and Christian Ruiz; and her great grandchildren, Jayshon Coleman, Marley Palmer, Kashton Miller and Jolie Mullinax. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
