He was predeceased by: his wife Sara Louise Painter Mullinax; his parents, Lifers Mullinax and Bessie Griffin Mullinax; his son Jeffery Carl Mullinax; his granddaughter Sara Jan Mullinax; and his siblings, Rev. Robert Mullinax, Jeanette Ruppe, Mary "Teenie" Perry and Louise Moss.
He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Rodney Mullinax (Janet) of Gaffney, James Larry Mullinax (Becky) of Gaffney and Avery Lynn Mullinax (Rita) of Gaffney; his sister Evelyn Carlton of Blacksburg; and his grandchildren, Kevin Mullinax (Heather), Mandy Ohler (Michael), Kimberly Arrowood (Joseph Martin), Justin Mullinax, Angie White (Jonathan) and Nathan Mullinax. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
