It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Towery (Gaffney, South Carolina), born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, who passed away on July 5, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Miller Towery and Sara Lou Bonner Towery; his stepdaughter Lisa Strange; his grandson Tyler Towery; his siblings, Miles Towery, Ray Towery, Louise McCraw and Sadie Matheny; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Parris.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Yelton Towery; his sons, Dennis Towery (Orlando) and Randy Towery of Oak Island, NC; his sisters, Aileen Melton of Forest City, NC and Lunette Parris of Forest City, NC; his sister-in-law Kay Towery of Forest City, NC; his grandchildren, Brooke Towery and Hannah Black; his stepgrandchild Avery Strange; and his great grandchildren, Rome Towery and London Towery.
