He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Thorne Borthwick and Blanche McCluer Borthwick (Polly); his former wife Anne E. Crowgey; his wife Anne C. Borthwick; his daughters, Anne-Marie Darr (Tom) of Alpharetta, GA, Betty Thorne Bouton (Henry) of James Island, SC, Mary Mac Jennings (Andy) of James Island, SC and Helen Hicks (Glenn) of James Island, SC; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Abt (Greg), Mary Rose Darr, William "Wick" Bouton (Laura), Anderson Bouton, Kate Smith (Graham) and Sarah Grace Jennings. He was also cherished by three great-grandsons.
