She is survived by: her husband Francis Marion Sturkie; her son Skip Smith; her stepdaughters, Mary Lou Starnes (Wayne), Peggy McAdams and Tammy Mann (Adrian); her grandchildren, Stacey Pierce (Mark) and Chris Crocker (Kit); and her sister Gloria Thomas (Wayne).

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
