He is survived by: his parent Mary Goodwin Briggs; his wife Wanda Payne Briggs; his siblings, Gary Wayne Briggs, Sr. (Elaine) and Susan Briggs Wilkie-McHale (George); his brother-in-law Walter Flay Payne, Jr. (Julia Lee); his children, Michael Deward Briggs, Jr. (Susan), Mark Alan Briggs, Sr. (Lori) and Stephanie Lawrence Shryock (John); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Ray Briggs (Lana), Scott Alan Briggs (Jessica), Michael Brandon Briggs (Jackie), Mark Alan Briggs, Jr. (Alison), John "Jack" Edward Shryock IV, Nicholas "Nick" Payne Shryock, Sydney Lauren Shryock and Katherine "Kate" Michael Shyrock; and his great grandchildren, Karys Briggs, Asher Briggs, Stella Briggs and Isla Briggs.
