She was predeceased by: her parent Russell Jerome Thacker, Sr.; her brother Harold Thacker; and her granddaughter Sheree Goethe. She is survived by: her parent Grace Richardson Thacker; her children, Lisa C. Smith of Gastonia, Sandy Smith (Karen) of Gastonia and Don Smith (Sheila) of Macon, GA; her siblings, Russell "Pete" Thacker, Jr. (Gail) of Gastonia, Linda T. McCarter and Sylvia T. Myers of Mount Holly; her sister-in-law Ponda Thacker of Kings Mountain; her grandchildren, Amy Lynn Smith, Shawn Hinson (Amanda) and Matthew Goethe (Amber); and her great grandchildren, Abigail Wagner, Tinsley Sharpton, Hayden Hinson, Hailey Hinson, Paisley Goethe and Caleb Hodge. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
