With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma C. Hyman of Gaston, South Carolina, who passed away on October 15, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Boyd Coats and Penny Coats; her husband Richard N. Hyman; and her brother Boyd Coats (Buddy). She is survived by: her sister Dorothy Harunkiewicz; her daughters, Debbie Derrick (Charles) and Susan Hyman of Gaston; her grandchildren, Kelly Watson (Keith) and Tara Buchanan of Gaston; and her great grandchildren, Garette, Cole and Charlie.

Memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home or to the Charity of one's choice.
