It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emily Tanner (Georgetown, South Carolina), who passed away on July 21, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Eli Howard and Essie Cribb Howard; and her siblings, Lonnie Howard, Charlie Howard, Quentin Howard, Gaynell Cumbie, Ann Cottingham, Violet Strong, Sonny Howard, Perry Howard and Sudie Mae.
She is survived by: her child Johnnie Minton Tanner, Sr. (Sharon); her sister Mary Alford; her friend Christian; her children, Chico, Juan, Patricia Candal (Pastor Steve), Pastor Frankie Tanner (Jessie), Phyllis Frye (Mike), Camille Scott (Pastor Theron), Julie West (Pastor Ricky) and Janet Leonard (Brian); her grandchildren, Andrew Candal, Jeremy Candal, Joby Tanner, Kevin Tanner, James Tanner, Darby Cariello (Joe), Kimberlee Turnbough (Jonathan), Richard West (Kimberly), Kristen Bourne (Pete Baggesen), Dr. Michelle Nagro (Dorian), Katherine Poje' (Eric), Kelly Leonard and Christopher Leonard; her great grandchildren, Ruby, Emily, Brynn, Nate, Johnny, Kenley and Addison; and her pet Boe.
