He was predeceased by: his parents, John Calvin McConnell and Frances Elizabeth Walstrom McConnell; and his brothers, Johnny McConnell, Henry McConnell and David McConnell.

He is survived by: his daughter Natalie Nicole McConnell of Georgetown; his siblings, Barbara Cribb of Georgetown, Frances Cohn (Howard) of Andrews, Phyllis Blankenship (Frank) of Georgetown, Diane Rogers (Sammy) of Georgetown, Joyce Barnhill of Georgetown, Donna Kay Shuler (C. L.) of Georgetown, Roland Lambert (Connie) of Georgetown, Roy Irvin McConnell of Georgetown, Roger Dale McConnell, Sr. (Paula) of Georgetown, Woody McConnell (Darlene) of Georgetown, Bobby "Louie" McConnell (Monica) of Georgetown and Jeffery "Vince" Vincent of Georgetown; and his niece Louann Jackson of Georgetown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
