He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Tankersley and Mildred Howard Tankersley; his daughter Susan Renae Tankersley; his sister Paula Lukenbill; and his granddaughter Eva Renae Tankersley.
He is survived by: his wife Ila Mae Leach Tankersley of Gilbert; his sons, Richard D. "Rick" Tankersley (Jonetta) of Madison, Ronald Tankersley (Jennifer) of Leesville and Donald Tankersley (Tammy) of Canaan, Indiana; and his siblings-in-law, Dave Lukenbill of Noblesville, Indiana and Evelyn Bassett of Buckeye, Arizona. He is also survived by grandchildren, several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, 1-great great grandson and 1-step great great granddaughter.
