Virginia McLendon Obituary

We are sad to announce that on December 11, 2021, Virginia McLendon of Gilbert, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Leighton Ray, Sr. and Georgia Inga White Ray; her husband Jerome P. McLendon; and her son Tracy Lee Chavis. She is survived by: her children, Virginia K Richards (Tommie) of West Columbia, John Richard Ponder of Gilbert, James Shelton Ponder of Orangeburg, Kelly Dean McLendon of Orangeburg, Billy Joe McLendon (Kayla) and Bobbie Sue McLendon; her siblings, Charles Leighton Ray, Jr. (Ann) of Lexington and Georgia Rebecca "Reba" Watkins (Bobby) of West Columbia; and her grandchildren, Charlie, Brittany of Tiffany, RJ, Christina, Little Kelly, Cassy and Amber. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
