He is survived by: his wife Margaret Beard Smith; his children, Ashley Kaufman (Ken) and Bill Jr. Smith (Jenni); his grandchildren, Dirk, Luke Kaufman, Ellie, Kaylie and Ashlynn Smith; and his siblings, Larry (Laura), Carey (Melba), David (Ginny) and Brenda Walker (Jack).
