James Sylvester Foster Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Sylvester Foster of Graniteville, South Carolina, born in Montgomery, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 14, 2025 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Jean Foster; and his parents, Jimmie Sylvester Foster and Ethel Foster. He is survived by: his sisters, Caroline Matchet and Lorene Foster; his son Scotty L.; his daughter-in-law Dana Foster; his son James D.; his daughter-in-law Melody Foster of North Augusta; his grandchildren, Nicole L. Foster, Shelby Carl, Samantha Foster, Zachary Foster (April), Jason Linton (Holly) and Josh Linton; his great grandchildren, Maliyah Goyen, Quincy Carter, Aleko Carl, Rose Carl and Dakota Linton; his great great grandchild Alaya Hammond; and his brother-in-law Cotton Matech. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, reflecting Jim's generous and caring nature.
