He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Roy and Dorothy Scott; and his siblings, Lee Roy Scott Jr., Nora Gonzales, Peggy Call and Wanda Alumbaugh.
He is survived by: his children, Casey Welcher (Shane) and Melvin Scott Jr.; his brother Jamie Scott (Wendy); his grandchildren, Ethan Welcher, Melvin Scott III, Leeland Scott, Clayton Scott, Cameron Scott, Shane Welcher Jr. and Aden Welcher; and his great grandchild Richard Shane Welcher. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Jackson Memorial Funeral Home (315 Main St, Graniteville, SC 29829).
