In the sacred silence of farewell, Dorothy Jean is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by : her husband George W. Thomas; and her parents, Pickens Wilsons and Evelyn Pickens Johnson. She is survived by : her daughters, Evelyn Wilson of Piedmont, SC and Minister Selena Thomas of Greenville, SC; her stepdaughter Georgetta Mickler of Greenville, SC; her sons, Anthony Johnson (Belinda) of Piedmont, SC and Sherman Thomas (Wanda) of Easley, SC; and her sisters, Everlena Ewing of Washington, DC and Bennie Johnson of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Mountain View Baptist Church (111 Cagle St, Greenville, SC 29601). A burial was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens (1655 Piedmont Hwy, Piedmont, SC 29673).
