He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hilton Parsons, Jr. and Gladys Walker Parsons; and his son James Hilton Parsons, IV. He is survived by: his wife Christine Wyss Parsons; his daughter Lindsay Parsons; his stepdaughter Ashley Dunlap (Heyward); his grandchildren, George and Claiborne Dunlap; his siblings, Gary Parsons (Kathy) and Lisa Wilson (Jimmy); his siblings' children, Kenneth Parsons (Liz), Michael Parsons (Julie), Laura Herndon (Zach) and Sarah Sanborn (Steve); and his close friend Lois Freeman. He is also survived by eight grandnieces and nephews.
