He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Kenneth Blackwell, Sr. and Frances Biddix Blackwell; and his brother John Blackwell. He is survived by: his daughter Kristen Phillips (Tellas) of Myrtle Beach; his siblings, Jamey Blackwell (Amanda) of Columbia and Lynn Raber (Brian) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Breanna Newbauer (Trevor), Taylor Shaffer and Tre Phillips; and his great grandchild Camille Newbauer.
