He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde William Tankersley and Lula Virginia Martin Tankersley; and his siblings, Charles Tankersley and Pauline Crisp. He is survived by: his wife Belinda Anderson Tankersley; his brother Clyde Tankersley, Jr.; his children, Debra Joe Franks (Bill), Laura Merchant and Billy Tankersley (Alex); and his stepchildren, Andrew "Scotty" Scott (Melinda) and Amanda "Mandy" Hitt (Fletcher). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
