She was predeceased by : her husband William David Gunter Sr.; her parents, Bobby Wise and Edna Wise; and her son George Douglas Gunter (Susann). She is survived by : her brother Ronald Wise (Jane) of St. Helena Island; and her nieces and nephews, William David "Buddy" Gunter, Jr. (Barbara) of Bradley, James Darris Ward, Sr. of Greenwood, Travis Gunter (Johanna) of Greenwood and Cameron Earl Gunter (Mercy) of Greenwood. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
