He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Emmett and Mary Smith Waits; and his sister Nina Fordor Timmerman. He is survived by: his children, Rick Waits (Lisa) of Hodges, Michael Waits of Chester, SC, Lee Rush (Rochelle) of Greenwood, Lisa Nation of Chapin, SC and Lynn Wells of Hodges; his brother Danny Waits (Linda) of Greenwood; his grandchildren, Stephen Waits (Elaine), Nicole McDade (Justin), Cody Waits, Toni Dawn Nation (Jason), Amanda Weaver (William) and Steeler Rush; and his pet Daphne. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
