She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin McGirt and Saphronie Chavis McGirt; and her sons, James H. Hammonds, Kirt Junior Hammonds and Sammy Lee Hammonds.
She is survived by: her daughter Janice Wilbanks of Greer; and her siblings, Bobby McGirt of Belmont, Josephine Locklear of Pembroke and Glenda Lucks of Gastonia. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
