She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel Emmett Frey; her parents, Columbus Leo and Mary Alice Clement Howell; and her siblings, Clement Howell, Carl Howell, Sr., Bill Howell, Marian H. Patat and Frances H. Ridgeway.
She is survived by: her daughters, Beth F. Smart of Spartanburg and Debbie Krotish of Lake Murray; her sister Betty H. Brown of Asheville; her grandchildren, Ashley Smart, Lawren Honken, Michael Anderson and Sam Anderson; and her great grandchild John Honken.
