She was predeceased by : her parents, Belvin G. Owens and Margie Wooten Owens; and her brothers, Boyce Owens, Carroll Owens and Dale Owens.

She is survived by : her husband Lawrence E. Rainey; her sons, Rev. Joel Rainey (Amy) of Sheperdstown and Jason Rainey (Jenn) of Greer; and her grandchildren, Samuel Rainey, Seth Rainey, Grace Rainey, Moisés Rainey and Maribella Rainey.
