She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Young and Thelma Rucker Young; and her sister Ann Fowler. She is survived by: her son Van C. Parketon of Greer; her grandchildren, Praither Parketon (Richard Gosnell) of Lyman and Jason Parketon (Brandy) of Fort Mill; and her great grandchildren, Van L. Parketon of Fort Mill and Harrison Parketon of Fort Mill.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Earle Street Baptist Church, 225 W. Earle Street, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.
