He was predeceased by: his parents, George Dewey Elder, Sr. and Cynthia Charity Brown; his wife Betty Joyce Holloway Elder; and his siblings, George Dewey Elder Jr., Donald Elder and Audrey Ross.
He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Brett (David), Sheila Ray (Mark) and Angela Perry; his grandchildren, Jeremy Brett (Kalee), Chris Brett (Keely), Michael Ray, Daniel Ray, Joshua Perry and Noah Perry; and his great grandchildren, Tiffany, Harper, Maverick, Everly, Piper and Brushy Creek Baptist Church.
