He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jerald Newton, Bobbie Sue Lister, Katie Hampton, Mary Bowman and Lou Ellen Bowman.
He is survived by: his wife Carrie Mae Coleman Newton; his children, Shirley Howard (Michael) of Greer, Tammy McCraw (Harold) of Lyman, Lynn Ward (Arthur) of Taylors and Larry Newton (Emelia) of Landrum; and his siblings, Fred Newton (Lorena) of Gaffney and Susie Rogers of Greer.
