He was predeceased by: his parents, John Paul Phillips, Sr. and Minnie Lucinda Cobb Phillips; and his siblings, John Paul Phillips, Jr., Patricia Raxter Phillips and Lisa Yvonne Phillips.

He is survived by: his brother Roy Dean Phillips (Patricia) of Taylors.
