With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Howell Parrott Rhodes (Hartsville, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 8, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Betty shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Betty farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Dante Parrott; her son Kevin Parrott (Gretchen); her sister Peggy Gainey (Gerald); and her parents, Otcha Mae Howell Gardner and George Belk Howell.
She is survived by: her husband John Andrew Rhodes; her daughter Tonya Bell (Chris); her grandchildren, Dawson Bell (Mahla), Karis Bell and Kierstin Bell; her great grandchild Oakley Elizabeth Bell; and her brother Willie James Howell (Janie). She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Norton Funeral Home (1414 W Carolina Ave, Hartsville, SC 29550). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel United Methodist Church (2423 Bethel Rd, Hartsville, SC 29550).
