He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary Griggs, Sr. and Ruth O'Neal Griggs; and his siblings, Homer Watford, Bobby Leon Griggs and Gene Gainey.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Watford Griggs of Hartsville, SC; his children, Gary "Buddy" Griggs (Patricia) of Hartsville, SC and Kelly Galloway (Charles Davis) of Hartsville, SC; his granddaughters, Savannah Griggs and Chloe Davis; and his sisters, Beatrice Gainey (Walt Gillespie), Doris Bryant, Bernice Bellamy and Joyce Griggs (Alton).
