With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rufus Wayne Atkinson (Hartsville, South Carolina), born in Darlington, South Carolina, who passed away on December 26, 2019 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Atkinson and Rosa Beasley Atkinson; his wife Nora Jones Atkinson; and his siblings, Heyward Atkinson, William "Doc" Atkinson, Joe Atkinson, Lucille Griggs, Myrtle Gainey and Lena May Dixon.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Atkinson (Becky) of Hartsville, SC and Lynn Cassidy (Tony) of Hartsville, SC; his sister Janie Brock of Chesterfield, SC; his grandchildren, Tony Cassidy, Jr. (Jessica), Timmie Cassidy and Chelsea Atkinson; and his great grandchildren, Colton Cassidy and Kinsley Cassidy.
