He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Eula Andrews Garrett; his former wife Shirley Watkins Garrett; and his siblings, Jerry Garrett and Judy Sylvester.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Polson Garrett; his children, Tammy Dean (Richie), Teri Arthur (Chris) of Prosperity, S. C. and Len Garrett (Kellie); and his stepchildren, Jackie O'Tuel (Annette), Cindy Jones (Howard) and Lisa Williamson. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
