He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dave Simmons, Sr. and Geraldine Lynch Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Doris Cribb Simmons; his children, Gay Simmons and Will Simmons (Jane); his grandchildren, Sloan Ashley (Josh), Hyatt Ferguson (Maria) and Taylor Simmons; his great grandchildren, Brook Muse, Brixton Ashley, Ayla Ferguson and Hudson Ferguson; and his brothers, Gregg Simmons and Jerry "Bully" Simmons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Omar Shriners Children Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
