He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleba Spurgeon and Lettie Carter Thompson; his siblings, William Thompson (Louise), Wayne Thompson, Ellenburg Thompson, Creola Birchmore (Esaw), Ruby Perry (Dunkin), Jenette Owens (Henderson) and Sarah Cameron (Wildon); and his brother-in-law Melvin Cribb.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Boone Thompson; his children, Charlton Thompson, Sr. (Geneve) and Annette Thompson Parker (David); his siblings, Helen Cribb, Lois Onita Thompson and Jimmy Dale Thompson (Nancy); his grandchildren, Charlton Thompson, Jr. (Christie), Candace Brown (Jim), Summer Baxley (Nathan), John Boone Thompson (Tiffany), Ivie Parker and Brooke Parker; and his sister-in-law Juanita Thompson. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
