It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lula Powell Mims (Hemingway, South Carolina), born in Johnsonville, South Carolina, who passed away on April 23, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Gene T. "Buddy" Mims; her parents, Dike Powell and Earline Tanner Powell; and her siblings, Hazel Mascara and Harry Powell.
She is survived by: her daughter Jonna K. Mims; and her siblings, Norris Powell (Betty), Jeffrey L. Powell, Katie Avant Parsons, Louvenia Smith (Earl), Pancye Hunt and Jennifer Powell.
DUE TO COVID-19, THE FAMILY WILL NOT BE PRESENT but Mrs. Lula will lie in state Monday, April 26, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
