With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Jane Bakos of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, who passed away on October 21, 2025 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Jane Bakos to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Dolan and Florence Dolan (Pritchard); her husband John A. Bakos; her parents-in-law, John and Mary Bakos (Vargo); her brother Charles; her sister-in-law Barbara Dolan; and her nephews, Patrick and Terry Dolan.
She is survived by: her children, Beth Lusk (Michael), Jeff Bakos (Kim) and Amy Turk; her grandchildren, Emily Battle (Kevin), Dr. Keegan Bakos (Maria), Joseph, Josh, Samantha and Mary Kate Turk; her great grandchildren, Arlo Lusk Battle and Rory John Bakos; and her sister-in-law Rosemary Schilder (Joe). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (40 Granville St, Newark, OH 43055). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or St Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Newark, Ohio.
