She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton Chadwick Starnes and Willie Ruth Gaynor Starnes; her husband Gene Edward Hale; her children, Eric Gregg Hale and Myra Hale-Carter; and her brother Barry Wayne Starnes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lynn "Sam" Ellington (Don DeFino) of Columbia, SC, Amy Hale Cosborn (Don) of Columbia, SC and Annie Marsh (Greg) of Columbia, SC; and her sister Betty Sue Rogers of Cocoa, FL.. She is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
