He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Loyd and Minnie Lee Weed Koon; and his siblings, Virginia, Jimmie Lee, H. D., Clyde and Faye.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Faye Koon; his brother Furman Koon (Elsie); and his siblings-in-law, Rose Koon, R. C. Kelly (Martha), Gene Kelly (Tammy) and Henry Kelly (Debi). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
