He was predeceased by: his parents, Brantley Mathis and Mattie Mathis; his sister Carolyn Sellers; his brother-in-law George Sellers; and his nephew Michael Sellers.
He is survived by: his spouse Johnnie Mathis; his children, Jim Mathis (Elaine) and Susan Noller (Drew); his grandchildren, Ethan, Ashley, John, Ava Noller, Hannah, Caleb and Daniel Mathis; and his nephew David Sellers. He is also survived by numerous aunts and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapin UMC, The American Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice.
