He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Warren Johnson and Norma Jean Miller Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Miriam McNown Johnson; his children, Elizabeth Boecher (Roger) and Matthew A. Johnson; his granddaughters, Lucy and Sophia Boecher; and his siblings, Rodney Johnson (Sheryl) and Cindy Collings (Roy). He is also survived by numerous nephews; nieces; great-nephews; and great-nieces.
