He was predeceased by : his parents, David Saul and Daisy Murrow Matthews. He is survived by : his children, Ashley Matthews (Christopher), Margo Player (Lance), O'Dell Matthews (Carma), Gordon Matthews (Sabrina), David Matthews and Antony Rodriguez; and his brother Tony Matthews (Jesica). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 1 niece.
