She was predeceased by: her husband William B. "Billy" Epps, Jr.; her parents, William Irvin and Lula Shelton Brown; and her siblings, Ralph, Ed, Lenard, Harold Brown, Ruth Story, Willie Mae Phillips and Grace B. Tisdale.
She is survived by: her daughter Ruth E. Brown (Steve); her grandson William E. Godwin (Nichole); her great grandchildren, Billy and Anna Grace Godwin; her close friend Dotty Gause; and her friend Epps. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
