He was predeceased by : his parents, Wiley McKenzie and Lottie Beard McKenzie; his siblings, Durant McKenzie, Juanita Barrineau, Letha Coker, Doug McKenzie and Randy McKenzie; his sister-in-law Barbara Newton; and his nephew Van Barrineau.

He is survived by : his brother Farm; his wife Dessie Floyd McKenzie; his daughter Dana M. McKenzie; his sisters, Vera Coker, Christine Spring and Marie Eaddy; and his siblings-in-law, Lawana McKenzie, Elsie McKenzie, Lynn McKenzie, Mae Dean Beard (Stevie), Larry Floyd (Helen), Thurmond Floyd (Sandra Kay) and Al Newton.
