He is survived by: his children, Jamond Speight (Jack), Preston Applewhite of Charlotte, NC. and Rayshanda Applewhite of Lake City, SC.; his siblings, Evelyn Carter (Alford) of Omaha, NE., Elizabeth Strickland, Brenda Tillman (Allan) of Clayton, NC., Betty Strickland of Princeville, NC., Lillie Avent, Theresa Marshall (Brian) of Rocky Mount, NC., Dorothy Lee, Marilyn Edmonds (Carlos) of Nashville, NC. and James Strickland (Katherine) of Chesapeake Va; and his close friend Jasper Smith (Man). He is also survived by Eighteen Grand Children along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
