He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank William Brawley Leaphart and Zula Lybrand Leaphart; his siblings, Aaron P. Leaphart, Clarendon J. Leaphart, Rosa Lee Long and Mary Matthews; his parents-in-law, Charlie Heyward and Myrtle Risinger Meetze of Leesville; and his pets, Taffy, Princess and Katie.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Meetze Leaphart of Leesville; his sons, Heyward Leaphart (Cheryl Forsythe) and Barry Leaphart (Amanda Blizzard); his grandsons, Gregory Leaphart, Brett Leaphart, Landon Leaphart and Kaleb Leaphart; his brother Virgil Leaphart (Marie Frazier) of Leesville; and his sibling's children, Lillian Coats, Miriam Lovett, Shelby Wilson, Andy Leaphart, Ashley Leaphart, Tony Leaphart and Duane Long.
